California Woman Arrested for DUI / DWI After Trying to Evade Sobriety Checkpoint
A Stockton woman was arrested for California DUI / DWI after she drove over a center median in an effort to avoid a sobriety checkpoint.
Kelley Holmes, 21, is charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless evasion of a peace officer, speeding and failure to provide proof of insurance.
It isn’t illegal to avoid driving up to a sobriety checkpoint in California, but it is against the law to drive over a median. By doing so, Holmes exposed herself to more charges than she would have had she merely encountered the sobriety checkpoint.
